In Island called “Mykonos Experience” comes up recently under most adult related major keywords in search as the most trafficked sex region in Second Life. Sometime more than a 100.000 in traffic minutes per day.
That is a lot!
I was about to update my post “top 10 adult destinations in Second Life“. Needless to say, checking out Mykonos Experience was on on my to do list.
Just to make sure, that it is not a one off, I visited it several times.
What stroke me od at first was that this the type of region became that popular. Nothing wrong with a beach experience, those have been the places to be, but years ago.
There have been numerous places like that and all pretty much the same: Beach, toss some prefab stuff on it, make sure you have enough sunbeds and other sex furniture standing around somewhere and monetize it with shop rentals and add boards.
Easy peasy.
Some beach regions at least add a bit of action to the experience, such as surfboards or jet skis. So does the Mykonos experience beach region.
Nowadays adult beach regions hardly ever get to top of list in rankings, with the exception of “Secret Beach” maybe. People got tired of seeing more of the same all the time.
The crowd moved on. Not at Mykonos Experience – apparently.
I observed other odd things.
- Everybody was on that dance floor or alternatively around the landing point. Very odd.
- Nobody was using the numerous sex places or animations. Trust me this is a weird thing to see: An adult beach on which nobody fucks. Even more odd.
- Only a few adboards where rented out. Very unusual for a high traffic region
I had a suspicion.
I checked the profiles of the avatars on the region. All of them. Not so much to my surprise, they had a lot off common pattern.
Such as:
- Being relatively young – almost all of them between a few months and 2 years
- No payment details on file – none of them
- No picks in the profiles – none of them
- Hardly any group memberships – other than Mykonos Experience Maitreya VIP, and the shop group of the owner
You know where this is going, don’t you?
Yes. I do believe the majority of the traffic is are what we call scripted agents, commonly referred to as bots.
I did the ultimate test:
I did send anIM to those who wear a staff tag. Dancers, DJ, and so on asking something very simple:
“Hello, where is your tip jar actually?” You might have guessed it: Not a single one answered.
The obvious conclusion:
The region owner(s) are tricking people into believing it is a high traffic region. The even have bots with tip jars and rent out adboards to the unsuspecting.
A scam in my books, what do you think?
Please leave your opinion in the comments and share this post on twitter and whatever social media you might be on.

I just came up wth this article since i was suspecting they CHEAT. (mykonos that is)
I am running a beach sim with my partner and babygirl, and i know its hard to get traffic. They have over 135K each day which is absurd. There is some avis there but none talk. Like you already described. Theyobvioulsly CHEAT. So why isnt LL doing anything about it? are they that GREEDY that they dont care about their own rules anymore?……..
My partner and i want this beach sim for people to enjoy. We do not care about the money, we do not care about being at the top. We just want people to have a nice visit here and hopefully come back. We are not in the leadership race because i know lots cheat and LL doesnt give a **** anyways…… come by and see us sometime
